The story of the Wantley Dragon is retold in Percy's Reliques of 1685 where More or More Hall slew a dragon with his bare hands. The story might be an embellishment of the 1591 attack by brigands on the area, however the More family arms has borne a green dragon from before 1591. The full text is available on Wikisource.
